Urglaawe 410: Die Deitsche Raane (The Pennsylvania Dutch Runes)

The heirloom healing Deitsch (Pennsylvania German) practice of Braucherei (also called Powwow in English) and the related magical practice of Hexerei serve as tremendous folk resources for the Heathen denomination of Urglaawe. Among a small group of Hexerei practitioners, remnants of a runic system of unknown age have been used in healing and in divination. This system has been picked up by the Urglaawe community, reconstructed as well as possible, and updated into a complex system of runes, elements, colors, mechanisms, and intentions. This workshop will provide the background to this rune system, including the reconstruction (and sometimes construction) of the runes, the forms and attributes of the runes, and examples of this system in practice.
