Verin für Germanisches Heidentum e.V (VfGH), Eldaring, and The Troth

I live in northern Bavaria, am married and work as an IT freelancer. I got into Germanic Heathenry in 2002, then joined VfGH and Eldaring in early 2004. Since 2016, I have been a member of the Troth as well. I was elected to the board of VfGH, first as a treasurer, in 2004 as well. I have served as Esago/chairman in VfGH from 2006 to 2010, again from 2012 to 2013 and was re-elected in 2017. From 2014 to 2017, I held the office of Ewart, which is the “religious coordinator” in VfGH. Internationally, I was involved in Asatru-EU from the start and was involved in the organization of IASCs 2009 and 2012 and now in organization of Frith Forge. Besides heathen matters, I am a political and peace activist of many years. Of course, I cannot completely separate both topics and one of my main intentions has always been to care for democratic structures and practices in heathen organizations. Regarding religious matters, I have always been a proponent of “Re-Invention” in today’s Heathenry. I understand this as building contemporary heathen practices and world-view, of course based on historical facts and myths, but not captured in a backward-oriented trap.
